A Message from NYSSCPA President Margaret A. Wood Regarding Board of Directors Vacancy
Dear NYSSCPA Members,
As you may be aware, we have had a recent resignation from the Board of Directors. Under our Bylaws, the resignation must be tendered to the Board. The Board is now bound by Article VI, paragraph 3 of our bylaws to designate a member to serve in the vacant position.
The position vacated was that of a Director-at-large, and therefore we may consider any and all candidates for this position subject to the following criteria as laid out in Article VI, paragraph 1: the candidate must be a CPA member; have at least five years continuous membership in the NYSSCPA; and have at least two years of participation in a Society-level committee, or as a member of the board of a chapter, or some combination of both. The term for the vacated position will run until May 31, 2012.
Please submit any recommendations of candidates to fill the Board vacancy to Dick Piluso (presidentelect@nysscpa.org), President-elect and Chair of the Selections Subcommittee, for consideration. You should confirm with the potential candidate their willingness to serve if selected, and include a brief candidate bio for consideration by the Selections Subcommittee. All recommendations are to be submitted to Dick no later than August 31, 2010. Only NYSSCPA members may participate in this nominations process.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Margaret A. Wood, CPA
President
