Today at the NYSSCPA: ‘Rapid Response’ Tax Division Subcommittee

This morning, representatives from each of the NYSSCPA’s Tax Division committees came together via a conference call to organize a new “rapid response” subcommittee that will respond to urgent taxation-related legislative and regulatory matters.

This subcommittee plans to escalate certain proposals and exposure drafts with short comment periods and respond to them. In addition, it will examine the system to identify issues that may not yet be open to comment, but that may be of importance to CPAs and the public interest and worthy of an appeal to lawmakers or regulatory bodies.

This first organizational meeting will be followed up by monthly conference calls.
