BDO Seidman Founder Dies

L. William Seidman, founder of Seidman & Seidman Certified Public Accountants (now BDO Seidman) died today, according to msnbc.com. He was 88.

From 1985 to 1991, Seidman served as the fourteenth chairman of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Under President George H.W. Bush, Seidman was tapped to lead the newly created federal agency, the Resolution Trust Corp. (RTC), which was charged with cleaning up the S&L mess.

Congratulations to NYSSCPA member Henry Reininger, who today was profiled in the New York Times as the "All-Night Accountant" in the newspaper's "One in 8 Million" slideshow series, an honor which included an intro, link and photo on the newspaper's online front page.
