 S YOU WELL KNOW, the accounting profession is changing in ways
that will provide exciting opportunities for the next generation of CPAs. The New York State Society of Certified
Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) is committed to helping talented accounting students reach their career goals. We would
like to make you and your accounting students aware of the benefits available to them.
The Society is initiating a new program for your school to develop an on-line Accounting Club. We will provide you with web hosting privileges for free on our site at www.nysscpa.org. Those already with a web-presence can ask to be listed on the NYSSCPA site where we would provide a reciprocal link. By having access to the Society’s web page, students can keep up to date with the fast paced accounting world. Your Accounting Club will have on-line access to our monthly newspaper The Trusted Professional and our monthly magazine, The CPA Journal. Each is an excellent source for students who want to keep up with professional, regulatory and candidate issues. In addition, the Career Opportunities Handbook, a listing of small and medium-sized accounting firms can be accessed only on-line through nysscpa.org. The Society has also recently established a new student membership category. For students who are majoring in accounting, Student Associates are given the opportunity to meet peers and network at Society events. Students will have the opportunity to establish important contacts with the leadership and take advantage of a wide range of membership benefits. This is a great way to get on a successful career track. Please inform your accounting students and accounting club about the great new program the NYSSCPA provides to them. We look forward to establishing a relationship with today’s accounting students and tomorrow’s leaders.
