Message From the President By Mark Koziel, Buffalo Chapter President We hope your tax season has been all you expected it would be. This is my first tax season outside the four walls of public accounting, and I feel very removed. Although I spent the last few years in public accounting doing consulting, it was always nice to be around the buzz. The IRS has been active with the chapters; on the Buffalo webpage, we have a penalty rebate offer from the IRS you should inform your business clients about. The webpage also has the Buffalo Chapter scorecard. We are trying to keep information on the site extremely timely. Be sure to check it out every now and again to see if there’s anything new. Go to nysscpa.org, click on the “Find Chapters” tab on the left and then click on Buffalo and you’re in. It’s that easy! Don’t miss our next program on April 27, which will be the Education Night Dinner along with a two-hour CPE entitled “Fraud: A Better Strategy for CPAs.” Toby Bishop, President and CEO of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, will be the speaker. We will also be voting on our officers for the 2004–2005 fiscal year at this meeting. So if you’d like to vote, please join us for the dinner. Visit the Buffalo Chapter website for more details and the registration form. Stay tuned. May and June will start the new season of great get-togethers, CPE, etc., as busy season winds down and time allows for more social fare! Also, if you have not been receiving my periodic listserve updates, you may be missing out on receiving more timely information about programs and initiatives. The listserve subscription instructions are also on our webpage. Subscribe today. If you are having trouble subscribing, please e-mail me at markkoziel@adelphia.net and we’ll get that fixed right away. Mark J. Koziel can be reached at 716-316-7329 or markkoziel@adelphia.net. |
