Attendees at the 2000 CPAs' Finance, Business & Technology Show & Conference can keep in touch with their office and clients from the show's Cyber Café. The café's computer terminals will provide free Internet access and spotlight the latest features of www.nysscpa.org.

The Cyber Café is but one of the many features of the show, which will take place May 1012 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City. Acclaimed speakers will lead educational sessions, more than 100 vendors will demonstrate the latest in accounting and office technology, and authors of NYSSCPA publications will answer questions about the topics addressed in their books.

Tax specialists at the CPE sessions will include Mark Klein on New York state taxation, Stewart Buxbaum on sales tax, and Ed Slott on distribution planning techniques. In Developing a Turnaround Practice, Robert Rosenfeld will examine the warning signs of corporate distress and the accountant's role in working a company through its financial and operational turnaround. In one session Scott Lobel will discuss intranets, remote access technology, and virtual assistants; in another he will update attendees on the latest technologies creating new business opportunities for the profession. Basil Imburgia and Glenn Pomerantz will address how to establish a successful litigation support practice, and John Gill will speak on building a financial services practice.

Seymour Goldberg (A Professional's Guide to the IRA Distribution Rules and Pension Distributions: Planning Strategies, Cases and Rulings) will answer questions at the NYSSCPA booth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at the first "Meet the Authors" event. LeaseCheck authors Alan Aronow and Don Mokrauer will be at the NYSSCPA booth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday, May 1112.

While attending CPE sessions, visiting exhibits, and meeting NYSSCPA authors, show participants will have the opportunity to establish professional relationships with their peers. Raffles and other special events will be announced shortly. To attend, visit www.nysscpa.org or call FAE Registration at (212) 719-8383 or (800) 537-3635. *
