September 2001 Q: I have been following the American Institute of CPAs’ progress with respect to the proposed XYZ global credential and was wondering what my peers’ opinions of the proposed credential are. Has the New York State Society of CPAs received any feedback from its members concerning this matter? If so, does the Society post these comments online? A: The Society’s website hosts a forum where CPAs and other interested parties can post their opinions and ideas concerning the proposed XYZ global credential and the AICPA’s interest in the designation. To read or post messages on this board, members should go to www.nysscpa.org and click on the first link in the NYSSCPA Info Highlights section (“The AICPA is planning a membership ballot in the fall…do you know enough about ‘XYZ’?”). *** Q: According to the current Foundation for Accounting Education CPE catalog, members should check online for any updates to FAE’s program schedule. Where are these changes listed on the Society’s website? A: Members should click on the “Recent Changes to the FAE 2001 Seminar Catalog” link, which can be found on the Society’s homepage in the NYSSCPA Info Highlights section. Members can also access this link by clicking on the Continuing Education button near the top of the Society’s homepage. *** The website staff welcomes your questions and comments. Any committee or chapter information that you would like to have considered for posting on your committee or chapter page can be sent via fax to (212) 719-3365, Attention: Website Staff, or as an e-mail attachment to suggestions@nysscpa.org. Please mail newsletters to NYSSCPA, Attention: Website Staff, 530 Fifth Avenue, 5th floor, New York, NY 10036. |
