Board Merges Leadership and Annual Conferences

By Danielle D'Angelo

The NYSSCPA board of directors voted at its October 29 meeting to merge two member conferences: the Annual Conference held in June and the Leadership Forum held in August. The combined single event will take place in June 2001.

"The new combined conference addresses the changing needs of our members," NYSSCPA Annual Conference Committee Chair Frank Aquilino said. "We can better accommodate the busy schedule of member-leaders and maximize Society resources."

To reward active members for their contributions and encourage participation in the merged conference, the Society will sponsor certain expenses for some membership groups. Invited attendees include board of directors, chapter officers, statewide committee chairs, chapter Young CPA Committee and CPA Candidates committee chairs, and some Leadership Academy members.

A separate Annual Conference and Leadership Forum will continue in 2000. For more information, contact NYSSCPA Member Relations Division Director Lorrie Lamazor at (212) 719-8390, (800) 633-6320 or llamazor@nysscpa.org. *
