The Health Care Community is a resource to NYCPA members regarding emerging accounting, reporting, reimbursement and tax issues for the healthcare industry.

What We Do

The Community provides the following technical, educational and networking activities:

  • Provides a liaison between the NYCPA and government agencies, in particular the NYS Department of Health and Social Services
  • Monitors Federal and State legislation relating to healthcare accounting and reporting matters
  • Conducts educational conferences/technical sessions
  • Provides the opportunity to comment upon exposure drafts for new standards, pronouncements and reimbursement issues as well as implementation and interpretative guidance
  • Affords networking opportunities at Community meetings and conferences
  • Disseminates information through articles in The CPA Journal and The Trusted Professional and other media
  • Meet others with healthcare expertise
  • Learn about various areas within healthcare, such as hospitals, nursing homes, home care, clinics, physician practices, managed care, etc.
  • Provide your input to those who make policy decisions regarding regulations, accounting principles and reporting matters
  • Speak at and/or help coordinate annual conferences
