NEW YORK, NY, MAY 15, 2012 – The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) installed Anthony T. Abboud, CPA of Manlius, as a director representing its Syracuse Chapter at its 115th Annual Election Meeting & Dinner held at the New York Marriott Marquis on May 10. Abboud is a principal at Firley, Moran, Freer & Eassa, P.C. in East Syracuse. Abboud’s term is for three years and begins on June 1, 2012.
Abboud joined the NYSSCPA in 1998. He is currently the president of its Syracuse Chapter and has previously served as its president-elect and vice president. Abboud is the co-chair of the chapter’s budget committee and is a past chair of its Young CPAs committee.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Abboud is the treasurer of the Surety Association of America’s Syracuse Chapter and is a member of the Le Moyne College Accounting Advisory Board. He is also the treasurer of St. Elias Orthodox Church.
Abboud received a bachelor of science degree from Le Moyne College in 1994.
