Richard D. Marshall, Esq. is a Partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. He focuses his practice on the representation of financial institutions and employees subjected to investigations by the SEC, the Department of Justice, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and state securities regulators. He also counsels broker-dealers, investment companies, and investment advisors on regulatory issues, particularly relating to SEC and FINRA regulations. He also frequently counsels clients on compliance and risk management issues and the handling of inspections. He provides extensive advice regarding the possible impacts of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and related regulatory rulings, as well as time-sensitive guidance on securities trading, ownership reporting, and other investment regulations to a broad range of clients.

Kristy is a partner in the Financial Accounting Advisory Services Practice out of the New York office specializing in the Wealth and Asset Management sector and leads the regulatory reporting policy function in the EY Comply managed services offering. Prior to joining EY in January of 2019, Kristy was an Assistant Chief Accountant in the Division of Investment Management at the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission, where she assisted the Division’s staff, as well as other Offices and Divisions within the Commission, in developing recommendations for rules, regulations and policies concerning investment management entities. Additionally, Kristy assisted in interpreting accounting principles and directing the financial reporting and accounting practices of investment companies in compliance with the federal securities laws. Prior to joining the SEC, Kristy was a Senior Manager in the Financial Services Office of Ernst & Young LLP in New York, where she managed the audits of asset managers and their related entities, specializing in hedge funds with complex portfolios. She also served in EY’s National Accounting Practice as the resident covering the Wealth and Asset Management sector nationwide

Michael A. Provini is a Partner with the Financial Services Practice Group of PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP. Mr. Provini has more than twenty years of public accounting experience and expertise in audit, tax and consulting services for a variety of financial service clients including hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity funds, offshore funds, master-feeder structures, commodity pools, private foundations, employee benefit plans, family offices and registered investment advisors. He is responsible for coordinating and managing the audit and attest services for the Firm’s Financial Services Group. His extensive product portfolio includes PIPES, long and short securities, private equity, commodities and futures, various debt instruments and other derivatives including, but not limited to, options, warrants and swaps. In addition, he performs monthly and quarterly reviews of investment partnerships and comments on organizational structures and fund documents. In addition to client responsibilities, Michael is actively involved in the Firm’s Continuing Professional Education program and assists in determining the curriculum and lectures on industry related topics for in-house training seminars including valuation of financial instruments, partner allocations, recent accounting standards updates and financial statement presentations. Mr. Provini presents industry guidance to external participants through the Financial Service Group’s Knowledge Share seminar program. He also serves on the Firm’s accounting and auditing committee.

Karen H. Kerby is a Partner in the Audit department of Prager Metis CPAs, a member of Prager Metis International Group. She is also the Financial Services Practice Leader and has been in the financial services industry for over 35 years, including 24 spent in public accounting. Karen specializes in conducting audits of investment partnerships (including hedge funds, fund of funds, and private equity funds), and providing consulting and accounting services for fund managers. She is also experienced in conducting audits for broker-dealers, Registered Investment Advisors and various nonprofit organizations. Prior to working in public accounting, Karen worked as an industry “insider” through positions at a major broker-dealer company and a notable commodity trading firm. This experience allows her to understand how her clients’ operations are structured, how the workflows, and what challenges and opportunities exist for them. Karen enjoys working with her clients to keep the audit process moving smoothly with open lines of communication which allows them to remain informed and avoid surprises along the way. Paul Marino is the head of the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions group, and co chair of the Financial Services group. Paul focuses his practice in matters concerning financial services, corporate law and corporate finance. Paul provides counsel in the areas of private equity funds and mergers and acquisitions for private equity firms and public and private companies and private equity fund and hedge fund formation. Eric Gelb, CPA, is a Senior Managing Director in Financial Services with PKF O’Connor Davies Advisory, LLC. His clients include private equity and hedge funds, RIAs and family offices. Eric’s practice includes fractional CFO to private equity funds; transaction and M&A advisory, and quality of earnings due diligence relating to structured credit. He has advised the Board of Directors for a leading RIA. In addition to 20+ years’ experience in public accounting, he was a Vice President with Citibank and JP Morgan Chase for a total of 15 years where he focused on equipment leasing, securitization and asset-based lending. Alex focuses on clients in the financial services industry, including mutual funds, interval funds, business development companies, private equity and venture capital funds. He has extensive experience with both AICPA and PCAOB auditing standards and SEC reporting requirements. From 2020 to 2023, Alex served as an Assistant Chief Accountant at the SEC’s Division of Investment Management. While at the SEC, he contributed significantly to the development of recommendations for policies aimed at ensuring the full and fair disclosure of financial information by investment companies. He also provided valuable insights into interpretations of rules relating to the form and content of financial statements, and actively participated in establishing uniform standards of auditing and accounting practices within the investment companies sector.

Joanna Conte is a partner in Marcum LLP’s Alternative Investment Group, responsible for advising clients on the operations of investment funds as well as managing financial statement audit engagements. Her industry experience includes hedge funds, private equity funds and fund of funds. Joanna has over 20 years of experience within the financial services industry. She spent 12 years in the alternative investments auditing practice of a Big Four accounting firm and subsequently spent five years in the controllers group at AIG Inc. as a director of financial statement analytics for the company’s international operations. She has taught alternative investment concepts and practices at external and internal educational seminars and authored technical articles. Joanna joined Marcum in 2016. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Pennsylvania.

Tom Williams, CFA, is the Head of the Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO) at Morgan Stanley. The OCIO group designs and manages bespoke portfolios for pension funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices. These are multi asset, multi manager portfolios managed on a 100% discretionary basis. Tom has over 20 years of experience managing diversified portfolios as a Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager, and Director of Research. Prior to joining the firm in June 2020, Tom was Chief Investment Officer and President of Pine Grove Asset Management, a multi- strategy fund of hedge funds. Tom held many senior positions at Pine Grove, including Portfolio Manager and Director of Research, before executing a management buyout and assuming co-ownership. During his tenure, his responsibilities included portfolio management, manager due diligence, risk management and client relationship management. In 2014, he negotiated the sale of Pine Grove to the Man Group, a London-based global investment manager, where he continued as Chief Investment Officer of Pine Grove and was a member of the investment committee for its multi-manager division overseeing $17 billion of portfolios of hedge funds. Tom is a CFA charter holder, received his B.A. in economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., and earned a law degree from the University of Southern California. He lives in Summit, New Jersey, with his wife and two teenage children. Tom is on the Board of Trustees for SHIP, Summit Helping Its People, whose mission is to feed the homeless and at-risk homeless people in Summit and assist participants in obtaining additional support services.

Valerie Wong Fountain is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, and she is based in the firm’s New York office. Valerie serves as Head of Family Office Resources Platform & Partner Management, which includes responsibility for Trust Services, Signature Access and Single Family Office Advisory. Prior to her current role, Valerie served as Co-Head of Private Capital Markets, a dedicated platform within the Global Capital Markets division of the Institutional Securities Group that is focused on raising capital for corporations in private market transactions. Valerie partnered closely with the Investment Banking Division to advise companies across multiple sectors on all matters related to their private funding goals. She also managed the private syndicate, connecting institutional pools of capital with high-quality issuers on a global basis. Previously, she served as Chief of Staff to James Gorman, Morgan Stanley’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. She was responsible for managing the Office of the Chairman and CEO and broader Firm management staff; liaising with senior executives, coverage officers, and clients on behalf of the Chairman and CEO; driving key strategic projects and initiatives; and covering key clients across geographies as a firm relationship manager. She started her career in the Institutional Equity Division, where she traded a range of Delta One products including Exchange-Traded Products, Index and Custom Basket Total Return Equity Swaps, Futures, and Program Baskets. Valerie serves on the First Tee of Metropolitan New York Executive Committee and Board of Directors, Morgan Stanley Foundation Board of Trustees and the Penn Golf Alumni Board. She is also a member of the Advisory Committee for the Firm’s Multicultural Client Strategy Team. In addition, she completed a two-year term as Morgan Stanley’s Corporate Leader for the Council on Foreign Relations. Valerie earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude and as a University and Joseph Wharton Scholar. She was also a Division I athlete, competing as a three-year letterwinner on the Women’s Varsity Golf Team. As an amateur golfer, she won the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association Better Ball Championship in 2019 and 2018. Valerie was recently presented with Asia Society’s 2022 APA Driver for Diversity Award. In 2021, Valerie received the Trailblazer Award from Ascend. In 2020, Valerie was honored as one of the top 100 Most Impactful Asians (A100) in culture by Gold House. In 2014, she was recognized as one of the top 50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business by the Asian American Business Development Center and was awarded Most Influential APIA New Yorker by the National Association of Asian American Professionals New York. Valerie also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Lisa Moraglia is a Principal at The Firmament Group, where she is focused on the Fund’s marketing and investment activities. Over the past two decades, Ms. Moraglia has focused on making senior debt investments in companies ranging from large publicly-traded companies to small, private-equity-owned businesses. Prior to joining Firmament, Ms. Moraglia was a Principal at Small Business Community Capital, an Impact SBIC fund, where she was responsible for identifying, structuring and executing new deal opportunities and was a member of the Investment Committee. Previously, Ms. Moraglia was a Vice President in the middle market CLO group at Ares Management LLC, where she focused on underwriting and portfolio management for middle market companies in a variety of industries including Retail, Food, Home Building Products and Business Services. Prior to Ares, Ms. Moraglia worked for several foreign banks that maintained a U.S. presence, where she evaluated and executed on syndicated and bi-lateral financing opportunities for multi-national corporations.

Michael Corcione is the lead Partner of PKF’s O’Connor Davies, (part of PKF International) Cybersecurity & Privacy practice. He has over 30 years of professional experience in advisory services. Michael advises firms and Boards on cybersecurity and privacy strategy and leads cyber and information security engagement teams. He also provides advisement on regulatory enforcement matters related to cyber and information security and appropriate remediation. Currently, Michael is a Cybersecurity Advisory Board Member for Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, where he has a role on the Vendor Risk Management Committee. He is also a Board member of American Management Association and holds several subcommittee roles. Michael leads client engagements performing cybersecurity business and IT risk assessments, evaluating cyber threat identification, incident response readiness and testing, IT infrastructure implementations, regulatory compliance, vendor and third-party due diligence, and strategy. He works with clients from all verticals, including financial services, asset management, private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, real estate, government contracting, healthcare, construction, and insurance. Prior to joining HKA, Michael was a Managing Director and led the Cybersecurity and Privacy Advisory Practices at Treliant, and Cordium Consulting, and a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers’s (PwC) where he led cybersecurity and privacy engagements as part of the Financial Crimes Unit. Michael routinely engages with the senior leadership of organizations, including the board and C-suite executives on M&A strategies, and to identify their cybersecurity business risks, threats, and potential impacts, regarding their organization’s client, regulatory, legal, and corporate responsibilities. Ted Dougherty is a Tax Partner in the Financial Services Practice in New York. Ted is Deloitte’s National Managing Partner for Investment Management Tax, which includes hedge, private equity and mutual funds. He also serves as the National Leader for Hedge Funds. In these roles, Ted has led the team in assessing the impact of the new IRS audit rules for partnerships, and is assisting clients in the implementation of this new guidance. Ted also leads the national tax compliance program standardization program for Deloitte’s hedge fund and private equity tax practice. Ted was recently appointed to Board of Directors for the Managed Funds Association. He has twenty-five years experience in the public accounting profession, serving alternative asset management clients as well as a broad array of financial services clients, including broker/dealers, banks, global trading firms, mutual funds and commodity pools. Prior to entering the profession, Ted spent five years on Wall Street with two retail brokerage firms, working in the internal audit and operations functions.
