Eric C. Boughman is a founding partner of ForsterBoughman, a Florida-based business law boutique. His law practice encompasses a wide range of issues affecting businesses, entrepreneurs, and healthcare professionals, including business disputes, risk and regulatory compliance, privacy and technology issues, health and medical law, and asset protection. Eric also oversees the firm’s active communications and public relations activities. Eric has represented clients ranging from multinational corporations to local business owners in all phases of the dispute process, including mediation, arbitration, administrative tax and licensing proceedings, trials, and appeals. His experience in these areas helps him counsel clients to identify and resolve potential problem issues before disputes develop. Eric has also served as general counsel to an off-shore technology company and regularly counsels tech companies, both foreign and domestic. Eric is rated AV–Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and is a frequent author and presenter in the areas of asset protection, technology, and privacy law. His articles have appeared in multiple American Bar Association (“ABA”) publications, The Florida Bar Journal, Forbes, Accounting Today, Financial Advisor Magazine, and the Daily Business Review, among others. He is the creator and co-presenter of a year- long national seminar series, entitled “The Eleven Commandments of Asset Protection.” His more recent popular seminars have focused on cutting-edge issues involving privacy and healthcare. Eric is also the author of a section on “Intelligent Eavesdropping” for the ABA’s forthcoming book on The Law of Artificial Intelligence, due to be published in 2019. Eric graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School, magna cum laude, where, prior to graduation, he argued before the Minnesota Supreme Court as a Moot Court finalist and wrote the advertising section of the Minnesota Practice Series Business Law Deskbook. Eric earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force where his duty included tours in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Eric has been admitted to practice law in Florida and Nevada, as well as in the U.S. Tax Court, and pro hac vice for matters in various other states. He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section, Healthcare Law Section, Cyberspace Law Committee, Asset Protection Planning Committee. Eric is active in giving back to the community. He is President of the Rotary Club of Lake Mary and has also served on the board for several years. He is a member of the Seminole Action Board; whose mission focuses on addressing homelessness in Seminole County. He and his wife, Heather, are Holiday Fundraising Consultants for Franklin’s Friends, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting animal welfare in Central Florida. Eric lives with his wife, Heather, two children, Peyton and Ethan, and their faithful dog, Chloe, in Longwood, Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys various outdoor sporting adventures, learning about history and technology, and attending and participating in community activities.

Gary Forster is the managing partner and co-founder of ForsterBoughman. His practice includes domestic and international corporate, asset protection, tax and estate planning law. Gary handles a variety of corporate and personal planning matters. Gary spent the first decade of his career structuring and closing some of the largest corporate transactions in the region. The mergers and acquisitions Gary consummated range from the national consolidation of regional US construction and transportation interests to real estate investment trusts, hospitals and surgical centers. Gary is one of the few attorneys in Central Florida with experience in cross-border corporate transactions, including a variety of industries ranging from intellectual property concerns to international distribution and manufacturing interests. Gary’s corporate work, with some of the most prominent companies and entrepreneurs in Florida and abroad, led him to expand his practice fifteen years ago. Successful clients require substantial tax, estate and asset protection planning. He recognized that certain wealthy clients require a single partner contact, familiar with both business law and tax planning and structuring. Gary serves that purpose. He has designed and drafted hundreds of corporate documents and asset protection plans. Gary is the author of two books. In 2013, he wrote Asset Protection for Professionals, Entrepreneurs and Investors, a guide to asset protection strategies for clients and their financial advisors, now in its second edition. In 2016, Gary finished the first edition of The U.S. Estate and Gift Tax and the Non-Citizen. This book explains how resident and non-resident foreign nationals are impacted by the U.S. Estate and Gift Tax. Gary’s legislative amendments were adopted as Section 43A of the new Nevis LLC Ordinance – Nevis Limited Liability Company (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015. Gary is rated AV–Preeminent, by Martindale-Hubbell and speaks fluent Spanish. Gary earned a B. A. from Tufts University in 1990, graduating cum laude with majors in Economics and Spanish Literature. He received his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law, graduating with honors in 1993. While in law school, he served as editor of the Florida Journal of International Law. Gary continued his studies as a graduate fellow at the University of Florida College of Law, Masters of Taxation program, earning an LL.M. in 1994. His education also includes studies at the University of Madrid, Oxford University and Leiden University in the Netherlands. Gary is a member of the Florida Bar (admitted in 1993), including bar sections for international and tax law, and the District of Columbia Bar (admitted in 1995), including bar sections for international and tax law. He is licensed to practice in the U.S. Tax Court and is a member of the American Bar Association Asset Protection Planning Committee. Gary has been involved in various civic organizations, including several chambers of commerce and served as President and Director of the International Council (a foreign affairs organization supported by the U.S. State Department).
