Paul’s practice is focused on helping business owners keep more of the money they make and increase the value of their business. In addition, he is skilled at auditing employee benefit plans. Paul also provides clients with guidance on accounting policies and procedures to improve operations and strengthen internal controls. Paul is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is regularly quoted as an expert source for leading business and trade publications. Throughout his career he has also been active in staff training and mentoring. Paul earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oswego State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He started his career at the firm’s Melville office and progressed from staff to partner. Paul is an active member of the New York State Society of CPAs, currently chairing the Suffolk Chapter’s Accounting & Auditing Committee, has served as Vice President of the Board of Directors and he has also held various executive board roles within the Suffolk Chapter. He is a member of the Risk Management Association, for which he is Treasurer and Director of the Long Island Chapter, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Over the years, he has actively participated in and held leadership positions with several charitable organizations throughout Long Island and New York City. He lives in Glen Cove, New York with his wife Kelly and their two children.

Mark is a Managing Director in the Commercial Business Group located in our Woodbury, Long Island office, who has been serving clients since 1998. Mark is dedicated to helping clients across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, importing, wholesale and distribution, retail, restaurants and professional services. His responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of his clients' audit, review and compilation engagements, and advising clients on the impact that new accounting standards will have on their financial statements. Mark frequently assists with forecast and projection modeling. He has conducted numerous in-house seminars for his colleagues at CBIZ and serves as a resource to other Long Island-based accounting professionals through his involvement with the Nassau Chapter of the NYSSCPA.

George Victor is a shareholder and the Director of Quality Control at Giambalvo, Stalzer & Company, CPAs, P.C. (GSCo), overseeing the firm’s Accounting & Auditing practice. He is responsible for establishing and maintaining the firm’s accounting and auditing policies, ensuring compliance with professional regulatory standards, conducting technical research, reviewing completed engagements, and managing the firm’s professional education program. Additionally, he leads the implementation of new accounting and auditing standards within the firm and provides guidance on audit, accounting, and financial reporting matters. With extensive experience across various industries, including real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution, retail, technology, hospitality, not-for-profit organizations, and employee benefit plans, George is a trusted advisor known for his technical expertise and leadership among clients and other professionals. He also serves as the firm’s liaison for speaking engagements at conferences and technical sessions. Prior to joining GSCo., George was a Quality Control Partner at Holtz Rubenstein Reminick LLP (now Baker Tilly Vircow Krause, LLP).

Shimon is a member of the Peer Review Committee and the Review Acceptance Body of the New York State Society of CPAs. Shimon consults with numerous accounting firms, helping them prepare for peer review. Shimon is a CPA specializing in providing audit solutions to small-midsize accounting firms to update their audit practices to current standards based on current peer review standards, and to maintain consistency across all audits at the practice. In addition Shimon provides solutions for firms which are looking to move their audit practices to a paperless environment. Shimon also specializes in performing and managing audit engagements across various industries. Shimon provides companies with solutions within their accounting department to be able to provide auditable evidence to their auditors. Shimon performs peer reviews for a number of firms as well. Shimon is an alumnus of PriceWaterhouse Coopers LLP and Ernst & Young LLP. Shimon is a contributing author of the Real Estate Investment trust Handbook. Shimon is a featured and frequent lecturer for ACE Seminars.

Leading with more than a decade of experience in public accounting, his role as Audit Senior Manager at Baker Tilly focuses on delivering quality solutions to clients, ensuring clients navigate the complexities of their business needs with confidence. Commitment to operational excellence is paramount, and has been evident through contributions to his teams. This includes streamlining audit processes and enhancing the accuracy of financial reporting, which has been crucial in supporting his clients' strategic financial planning and compliance. Outside the firm, James chairs the NYCPA Auditing Standards Committee where he sits alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.

Matt is an experienced Audit Senior Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the accounting industry. Very experienced with non-profit organizations including social service organizations and foundations. Skilled in Accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internal Controls, Financial Statements, and External Audit. Strong accounting professional with a Master's degree focused in Accounting from St. John's University.

Desirée Corbett is a Senior Manager at Baker Tilly US, LLP, with nearly 13 years of experience in public accounting. She focuses exclusively on serving not-for-profit organizations, providing a wide range of audit, review, accounting, and consulting services tailored to the unique needs of mission-driven entities. Desirée is an active member of Baker Tilly’s Not-for-Profit Industry Center of Excellence Technical Committee, where she contributes to advancing best practices and technical guidance across the firm. Her deep industry knowledge and commitment to quality make her a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex financial and regulatory environments. Beyond her professional role, Desirée is deeply engaged in community service. She serves on the board of Girls Inc. of Long Island, where she also contributes as a member of the Finance Committee, helping to support the organization’s mission of empowering young women through education and advocacy. Phil is a partner in the firm’s New York City office and is recognized as a national resource for government and not-for-profit accounting and federal single audits (Uniform Guidance). He has audited various types of governmental entities such as towns, counties, villages, schools, libraries, other special purpose entities and component units, and various types of not-for-profit organizations. Prior to Citrin Cooperman, Phil was a shareholder at national financial and employee business services provider where he served as the Government Services Practice Leader for the firm’s Metro New York Not-For-Profit and Government Practice.
