NextGen Week: Career Transparency: What to Expect and What It Takes Panel Discussion

Michael Durant is the President-Elect of the NYCPA. He previously served as Chair of the Statewide NextGen Committee, where he played a key role in expanding the NextGen brand by enhancing member education, elevating the visibility of emerging leaders, and strengthening community engagement across chapter committees. Michael began his NYCPA journey as a student member of the Manhattan/Bronx Chapter and later led the chapter’s NextGen Committee. He has also served on the Statewide Nominating Committee, contributing to the selection and development of the Society’s future leadership. A CPA and holds a JD, Michael approaches his profession with a strong sense of public service. He is currently a Senior Manager at Prager Metis CPAs LLC.

Renata is the manager for the Cannabis Advisory Group at Citrin Cooperman. She serves as vice-chair of the cannabis committee of the NYS Society of CPAs, and a member of the Small Business Committee of the Institute of Management Accountants. Renata We provides a wide range of accounting, tax, valuation, consulting and litigation services in the cannabis space across all states within the US and abroad. She is the winner of the 2023 Green Market Report Women's Leadership Ancillary Award which honors women from the cannabis industry.

As a Principal with over 9 years of experience in public accounting, Alicia specializes in review and compilation engagements within the construction and real estate industry and employee benefit plan audits. Her analytical prowess and industry-specific knowledge contribute to accurate financial insights. A dedicated professional, Alicia navigates complex financial landscapes, earning a reputation for precision and reliability. Outside of work, Alicia thrives on community engagement and volunteering. Whether contributing to local causes or events, she finds joy in making a positive impact. Additionally, Alicia embraces the outdoors, often taking leisurely walks with her dogs.
