Mid Hudson President Letter

As we step into this next year, we should all be reminded of both the strength of our profession and the challenges we face in sustaining it. 

Our region is home to a vital and diverse business community, supported by CPAs who play a critical role in maintaining financial integrity, transparency, and accountability. Yet despite this strong presence, we are experiencing a shift, one that is impacting not only firms and organizations, but also professional engagement at the chapter level. Like many chapters, we have seen that attracting and retaining active members has become increasingly difficult. 

This is not simply a membership issue; it is a reflection of broader changes within our profession. Demands on our time continue to grow, career paths are evolving, and the way professionals connect and engage is changing. At the same time, the need for what we do has never been greater. 

That is why I believe this moment presents an opportunity. We must be committed to developing the future of our profession by engaging the next generation of CPAs. Students and young professionals are not just the future; they are an integral part of our profession today. Creating meaningful opportunities for them to connect, learn, lead, and contribute is critical to ensuring the continued relevance and strength of our chapter and the entire profession. 

Our chapter’s success depends on the collective commitment of its members.
