Letter from Nassau/Suffolk Chapter President
Serving as President of the Nassau/Suffolk Chapter is a responsibility I accept with great pride. Our Chapter is among the largest and most active in New York State, driven by an extraordinary commitment to professional excellence, impactful programming, and meaningful community engagement.
Early in my career, I attended a NYCPA event because a colleague invited me, not knowing exactly where I fit—but knowing I wanted to grow, learn, and connect with others who cared deeply about our profession. Through this chapter, I found mentors who were generous with their time, peers who challenged and supported me, and leadership opportunities that pushed me outside my comfort zone. Those experiences shaped my career and reinforced my belief that professional growth does not happen in isolation—it happening community. That journey is what makes it especially meaningful for me to serve as President today.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Alyss Popov, whose leadership as President over the past two years helped guide the Chapter through its combination with vision, dedication, and steady stewardship. Her contributions have left a lasting impact, and I am grateful that she will continue to serve on the Board as Immediate Past President. I look forward to working closely with her in the year ahead.
Looking ahead, my goal for the coming year is both clear and ambitious: to strengthen member engagement by fostering stronger professional connections and increasing opportunities for members—especially emerging leaders—to actively participate and lead within our chapter. I encourage each of you to get involved, volunteer, share your ideas, and help shape the future of this organization. The strength of our chapter depends on the involvement of its members.
I also wish to thank our sponsors for their generous support. Your commitment enables the Chapter to deliver high-quality CPE programs, professional development opportunities, and networking events that benefit our members and the broader Long Island business community.
To our outgoing Board and committee members, thank you for your service, dedication, and contributions. To our incoming and continuing leaders, I look forward to working together to build upon our strong foundation and continue delivering value to our membership.
Our Chapter exists to serve its members, and your involvement, engagement, and support are what make this community so strong. I am honored to serve as your Chapter President and excited for what we will accomplish together in the year ahead.
As we begin this new chapter, I am reminded that “Leadership is about vision, strategy, and helping others be successful.” Mentorship has played a defining role in my own professional journey, and it is our shared responsibility to continue paying that forward. Let us commit to supporting one another, developing future leaders, and strengthening our profession through mentorship, collaboration, and service.
Warm regards,
Anthony Perrone
