Dear NYCPA members,
I’m saddened to share that former New York State Society of CPAs President Michael Borsuk passed away in June. A member of the Society for more than 60 years, Michael was a dedicated leader and volunteer for the accounting profession and New York CPAs. Throughout his decades of service, he made lasting contributions to the Society and its members.
During his time with NYCPA, Michael served on the Board of Directors, including as president from 1986–1987. His commitment to the Society also included service on the PAC Board of Trustees and the FAE Board of Trustees, as well as active involvement with the Nassau/Suffolk Chapter, along with numerous other Society initiatives.
In recognition of his extraordinary service, Michael received the NYCPA Distinguished Service Award in 2001 and was inducted into the NYCPA Hall of Fame in 2011.
Michael's legacy is defined by his unwavering commitment to the profession, his leadership, and his dedication to serving others. He will be deeply missed.
Regards,
Calvin Harris Jr.
CEO, NYCPA
