Tifphani is the US National Tax Practice Leader for Mazars USA. She is also a member of the Mazars Global Tax Leadership Team. Her responsibilities in these roles include creating a shared vision, setting strategic direction, and driving marketplace growth for Tax. Prior to assuming these positions, Tifphani was the US International Tax Practice Leader for Mazars USA. She has nearly 20 years of international tax experience, providing operational, strategic, and marketplace direction for emerging, midmarket, and large, multinational companies. Her expertise includes international tax structuring, transaction planning, mergers and acquisitions, tax provision, compliance reporting, and other related services. Within the firm, Tifphani leads high-performing teams that provide innovative strategic and operational support. She delivers expert services to clients within a multitude of market sectors, including consumer products, financial services, life sciences, real estate, and technology, and within industries such as advertising, aviation, insurance, and manufacturing. Additionally, Tifphani is very passionate about her sponsorship and mentorship roles and responsibilities. Prior to joining Mazars USA, Tifphani was a Tax Principal at a Big Four firm, where she oversaw a broad range of inbound and outbound tax issues, including initial overseas investment, financing international operations, cross-border business structuring, tax provision, and compliance reporting. She made history as the firm’s first African American female Tax partner. She also served as one of two International Tax Subject Matter Experts for the firm’s National Private Equity Steering Committee; and was the National International Tax Services Leader for Insurance. Tifphani is highly sought after as a speaker on various global tax topics both in the US and abroad. She is quoted and appears in international and domestic news / media outlets including CBS, NBC, Forbes, Les Echos, and Tax Analysts Tax Notes. She has authored several articles, taught at the university level, and led many podcasts on a variety of tax-related matters. She is the recipient of numerous professional and industry awards and recognition including: Crain’s Notable Women in Accounting & Consulting; the Harlem YMCA Industry Achiever’s Award and Long Island Business News Top 50 Women in Business. Tifphani graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. She received her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law, and currently is pursuing her Master of Laws degree at King’s College in London, UK.

Michele C. Meyer-Shipp, Esq., joined KPMG LLP as Principal and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer in August 2018. In this role, she leads the National Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) team and oversees its strategy and objectives, including supporting the recruitment, retention and development of a diverse workforce; inspiring broad perspectives and innovative client solutions; and fostering an inclusive and accessible culture. She works closely with KPMG’s leadership teams to advance its inclusive and diverse culture, which has earned the firm recognition as a top workplace by Fortune magazine, DiversityInc, Working Mother and the Human Rights Campaign. She most recently served as Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at the law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. In this role, she was responsible for developing and promoting all diversity management practices throughout the firm, ensuring that the firm’s foundational principles of inclusiveness and diversity were reflected in its internal and external policies, work and practices. She currently serves as a member of Twitter’s Diversity Advisory Council and Working Mother Media Multicultural Women’s Advisory Board. She is also an active board member of the National Organization on Disability. She had previously served on the boards of GLSEN (formerly the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network), the Women Presidents’ Organization, and the American Conference on Diversity. She is an active member of several professional associations, and recently completed her tenure as Cochair of the Asia Society Global Talent and Diversity Council. In 2017, she was honored with the “Winds of Change Award” in the individual category by The Forum on Workplace Inclusion and has been recognized by Seton Hall Law School for her work in advancing diversity in the New Jersey legal community. She was also recognized by Diversity MBA magazine as a “Top 100 Under 50 2017 Executive Leader.” She was selected by Black Enterprise as one of the “Top Executives in Corporate Diversity” for four consecutive years, was named among the “Diverse Attorneys of the Year” by the New Jersey Law Journal, received the Oliver Randolph Award from the Garden State Bar Association, and received the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association’s “Women’s Initiative and Leaders in Law (WILL) Platinum Award” for the Corporate Sector. In 2016, she was inducted into the Rutgers African-American Alumni Alliance Hall of Fame. Michele and her family reside in New Jersey.

Michael Seltzer is a Distinguished Lecturer at the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College. Prior to joining Baruch, Michael Seltzer served as president of Philanthropy New York and as a program officer at the Ford Foundation where he was responsible for its work in strengthening the nonprofit sector and promoting organized philanthropy worldwide. He also founded and led a sustainability in business initiative at The Conference Board. Seltzer chaired the master’s degree program in Nonprofit Management at the Milano School of the New School University. At Baruch, Professor Seltzer redesigned the core master’s degree course in fundraising and resource mobilization for nonprofit organizations, and teaches Advanced Public and Nonprofit Management in the Executive MPA program, as well as a variety of different topics in the executive certificate programs. He holds a B.A. from Syracuse University in International Relations and African Studies.

Dr. Stefanie K. Johnson is an author, professor, and keynote speaker who studies the intersection of leadership and diversity, focusing on (1) how unconscious bias affects the evaluation of leaders and (2) strategies that leaders can use to mitigate bias. Her new Harper Collins book, Inclusify: Harnessing the power of uniqueness and belonging to build innovative teams, shares the surprising ways the leaders undermine inclusion and provides actionable ways that leaders can pivot to build more inclusive teams. Dr. Johnson is a member of the MG 100 Coaches and was selected for the 2020 Thinkers50 Radar List, comprising 30 international management scholars whose work will shape the future of how organizations are managed and led. She works with the best companies in the world to create more inclusive leaders. She has extensive consulting experience and has created and delivered leadership development training with an emphasis on evidence-based practice. As an associate professor at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Leeds School of Business, Dr. Johnson teaches undergraduate and graduate students focused on leadership and inclusion. She holds the Andrea and Michael Leeds Research Fellowship, is the Director of CU Boulder’s Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at Leeds, and is a 2020 CU Boulder RIO Fellow. She is a fellow in the Society of Industrial Organizational Psychologists (SIOP) and the American Psychological Society (APS). She is also passionate about disseminating her work more broadly and has taught two LinkedIn Learning courses on how to increase diversity and inclusion in corporations. She has received $3,800,000 in external grant funding to study leadership and create leadership development programs. Her safety leadership course was adopted by the OSHA 30 and taken by 70,000 students in its first two years. She is an active researcher and has published 60 journal articles and book chapters in outlets Journal of Applied Psychology and The Academy of Management Journal. Dr. Johnson is also a frequent contributor to Harvard Business Review and an in-demand keynote speaker. She has presented her work at over 170 meetings around the world including at the White House for a 2016 summit on diversity in corporate America on National Equal Pay Day.
