Paul’s practice is focused on helping business owners keep more of the money they make and increase the value of their business. He is a trusted advisor who also oversees audits and reviews of companies in a variety of industries, including real estate, manufacturing and distribution, the service industry and debt collection. In addition, he is skilled at auditing employee benefit plans. Paul also provides clients with guidance on accounting policies and procedures to improve operations and strengthen internal controls. Paul is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is regularly quoted as an expert source for leading business and trade publications. Throughout his career he has also been active in staff training and mentoring. Paul earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oswego State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He started his career at the firm’s Melville office and progressed from staff to partner. Paul is an active member of the New York State Society of CPAs, currently chairing the Suffolk Chapter’s Accounting & Auditing Committee, has served as Vice President of the Board of Directors and he has also held various executive board roles within the Suffolk Chapter. He is a member of the Risk Management Association, for which he is Treasurer and Director of the Long Island Chapter, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Over the years, he has actively participated in and held leadership positions with several charitable organizations throughout Long Island and New York City. He lives in Glen Cove, New York with his wife Kelly and their two children.

Mark is a Managing Director in the Commercial Business Group located in our Woodbury, Long Island office, who has been serving clients since 1998. Mark is dedicated to helping clients across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, importing, wholesale and distribution, retail, restaurants and professional services. His responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of his clients' audit, review and compilation engagements, and advising clients on the impact that new accounting standards will have on their financial statements. Mark frequently assists with forecast and projection modeling. He has conducted numerous in-house seminars for his colleagues at CBIZ and serves as a resource to other Long Island-based accounting professionals through his involvement with the Nassau Chapter of the NYSSCPA.

Shimon is a member of the Peer Review Committee and the Review Acceptance Body of the New York State Society of CPAs. Shimon consults with numerous accounting firms, helping them prepare for peer review. Shimon is a CPA specializing in providing audit solutions to small-midsize accounting firms to update their audit practices to current standards based on current peer review standards, and to maintain consistency across all audits at the practice. In addition Shimon provides solutions for firms which are looking to move their audit practices to a paperless environment. Shimon also specializes in performing and managing audit engagements across various industries. Shimon provides companies with solutions within their accounting department to be able to provide auditable evidence to their auditors. Shimon performs peer reviews for a number of firms as well. Shimon is an alumnus of PriceWaterhouse Coopers LLP and Ernst & Young LLP. Shimon is a contributing author of the Real Estate Investment trust Handbook. Shimon is a featured and frequent lecturer for ACE Seminars.

Michael P. Glynn, CPA, CGMA, is a Senior Technical Manager on the AICPA’s Audit and Attest Standards Team, where he serves as the Staff Liaison to the Accounting and Review Services Committee (ARSC). Additionally, he supports the activities of the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) and its subcommittees by assisting members in drafting and deliberating on authoritative professional standards and interpretations. Prior to joining the Audit and Attest Standards Team, he was a Technical Manager in the AICPA’s SEC Practice Section (SECPS) and, in that capacity, he supported the Quality Control Inquiry Committee (QCIC) by participating in deliberations of QCIC cases and participating in meetings with the SEC regarding the commission’s oversight of the self-regulatory process. Prior to joining the SECPS, he was a Technical Manager in the AICPA’s Professional Ethics Division. He currently serves as a member of the NYSSCPA’s Accounting and Review Services Committee.

Matt is an experienced Audit Senior Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the accounting industry. Very experienced with non-profit organizations including social service organizations and foundations. Skilled in Accounting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Internal Controls, Financial Statements, and External Audit. Strong accounting professional with a Master's degree focused in Accounting from St. John's University.

Desirée Corbett is a Senior Manager at Baker Tilly US, LLP, with nearly 13 years of experience in public accounting. She focuses exclusively on serving not-for-profit organizations, providing a wide range of audit, review, accounting, and consulting services tailored to the unique needs of mission-driven entities. Desirée is an active member of Baker Tilly’s Not-for-Profit Industry Center of Excellence Technical Committee, where she contributes to advancing best practices and technical guidance across the firm. Her deep industry knowledge and commitment to quality make her a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex financial and regulatory environments. Beyond her professional role, Desirée is deeply engaged in community service. She serves on the board of Girls Inc. of Long Island, where she also contributes as a member of the Finance Committee, helping to support the organization’s mission of empowering young women through education and advocacy. Desirée is known for her collaborative leadership style, technical expertise, and dedication to strengthening the not-for-profit sector through both her professional work and volunteer service As of 9/11/25

Herbert M. Chain, MBA, CPA is a director at CBIZ Marks Paneth and shareholder in CBIZ CPAs P.C., where is a member of the quality management group responsible for engagement quality reviews, and consultations on independence, auditing, and accounting matters. He is a former member of the firm’s national Audit Methodology Steering Committee and former Deputy Technical Director of the Global Audit Group of the Kreston Global network. Prior to this, he spent 38 years with Deloitte (27 as audit partner) until mandatory retirement. He also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy at St. John’s University and led the Tobin Center for Executive Education. He served as an adjunct professor at St. John’s University, where he taught professional ethics. Mr. Chain is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He served as Chair of the SEC Committee and is a member of the following NYSSCPA committees: Investment Company, Stockbrokerage, SEC, Digital Assets, and Peer Review and Quality Control. Mr. Chain currently serves as independent director and audit committee chair for FRMO Corp. and Qlarant. He is certified as a corporate director by the National Association of Corporate Directors and is credentialed in private company governance by the Private Directors Association. Mr. Chain received his BS degree (Marine Geology) from Duke University, an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business, an MS in Global Studies (International Relations) from New York University, and is completing his DBA from the International School of Management.

George Victor is a shareholder and the Director of Quality Control at Giambalvo, Stalzer & Company, CPAs, P.C. (GSCo), overseeing the firm’s Accounting & Auditing practice. He is responsible for establishing and maintaining the firm’s accounting and auditing policies, ensuring compliance with professional regulatory standards, conducting technical research, reviewing completed engagements, and managing the firm’s professional education program. Additionally, he leads the implementation of new accounting and auditing standards within the firm and provides guidance on audit, accounting, and financial reporting matters. With extensive experience across various industries, including real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution, retail, technology, hospitality, not-for-profit organizations, and employee benefit plans, George is a trusted advisor known for his technical expertise and leadership among clients and other professionals. He also serves as the firm’s liaison for speaking engagements at conferences and technical sessions. Prior to joining GSCo., George was a Quality Control Partner at Holtz Rubenstein Reminick LLP (now Baker Tilly Vircow Krause, LLP).
